Most people spend up to 90% of their time indoors. That is why Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is so vital to the health and safety for those working or visiting a business, school, entertainment venue or health care facility. As buildings become more energy-efficient, airflow is usually decreased. If a building is not equipped to bring ample outside air inside, or if indoor air pollutants are not being removed from a space, the air tenants, students or patients breathe could include hazardous levels of bacteria, mold, allergens, viruses and other pollutants. When people breathe polluted air, they can become sick, resulting in reduced productivity and missed days from work or school.
When there is not enough outside air entering a building, toxins can accumulate and cause serious health issues or breathing difficulty and discomfort. In fact, indoor air pollutants can be up to 100 times higher than outside air. Typically, the most effective way to improve IAQ is to simply remove the source of pollution and enhance the ventilation of the space or building. Unfortunately, that is not always possible.
When other ways of improving IAQ are not available, air purification may be the right solution for your building.
Pollutant Sources
• Biological Pollutants (e.g., viruses, bacteria, mold, mildew, pollen)
• Particles & Gasses from Office Machines
• Fuel-Burning Combustion Appliances
• Building Materials & Furnishings
• Excess Moisture
• Central Heating & Cooling Systems
• Humidification/Dehumidification Devices
• Outdoor Air Pollution (e.g., smoke, pesticides, radon)
Bi-Polar Ionization Air Purification
Most air purification systems only treat the outside air as it enters the building. Continuum Services, in partnership with AtmosAir™, can help with a solution that continuously purifies the air, removing pollutants that originate from the inside.
Using patented ionization tubes, the AtmosAir™ system cleans the air without using chemicals or creating unwanted environmental byproducts. Using bi-polar ionization, the air is energized to form positive and negative ions, which then seek out unwanted or harmful air pollutants. AtmosAir™ finds and neutralizes air contaminants at their source.
Most passive air filtration systems remove pollutants as the air passes through a filter. With AtmosAir™, the inside air is continually being purified. Clients are left with an energy-saving, reduced-maintenance way to reduce bacteria, viruses, dust, mold, volatile organic compounds and odors from their building.
